Schools

La Cheim School, Inc. operates two schools serving students in Alameda County and Contra Costa County. Campuses are located in Richmond and Antioch, California.

Students referred to La Cheim have a history of difficult and severe behaviors that significantly impact their participation in traditional schools. In response to these unique and challenging needs, La Cheim Schools have created a structured, and nurturing academic and therapeutic environment in which students can and do succeed.

Programs

Our Schools are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and certified by the California Department of Education.  We provide standards-based core curriculum aligned with the local public schools.  We serve students in grades K - 12 in small, structured classes  staffed by a team of professionals who provide a high degree of support and supervision.  

Teams

Classroom teams include Special Education Teachers, Instructional Assistants, Mental Health Assistants, and Clinicians.  Students also have access to additional support from nurses and psychiatrists, as needed. 

Services

Each school provides special education services integrated with day treatment services.  Students referred from their home districts have Individual Education Programs (IEPs) that specify placement at a nonpublic school.
